I didn't end up living in that apartment because I had recently relocated to Hillsdale for my job. About three months ago, I had applied for a two-bedroom since I was single and could afford it. About three months ago, I had applied for a two-bedroom since I was single and could afford it. I called the rental office two weeks later, but they informed me there were no two-bedrooms available. I waited another month and asked again, but they again told me there were no two-bedrooms and gave me other renters' numbers in the area. After another month, I saw two-bedrooms were available and called to inform them, but the lady said that my salary was too high for a single person and that I was ineligible for the apartment since it was subsidized by the government and the salary limit for a single person was $25,000. I asked for my application fee to be refunded because they hadn't told me this information when I applied and I wouldn't have done it had I known. The apartment manager called me back, but said they couldn't do that. I feel they should have to let people know up front that these are HUD or Urban Development apartments subsidized by the government so applicants don't waste their money. Without informing people about this, they are making lots of money. It's shameful. more ... hide ...
