This was when we first moved in. Unawares to us, our guest bedroom had MOLD in the Suffolk style apartment. When I spotted the mold on the wall, I contacted the office, but it took three attempts, including leaving messages and sending emails with pictures, before anyone came five days later. Maintenance thought this was likely a foundation leak and said they were investigating for a solution. Two months later I had to phone and email again to remind them that we still had a mold issue and it was now causing breathing problems for my asthmatic partner. We bought an air purifier to try and improve the air quality in the room. After another month of trying to get the issue resolved, they suggested cleaning the carpet and wiping down the wall. When I attempted to speak with the property manager about this, I was directed to the regional manager. She said it was only mildew and something found in all their properties. We were offered the chance to transfer flats, which we are doing at present. Even though I would love to leave the community, this was our only option as we had just renewed our lease when we assumed they were going to repair the problem. Now, we are being billed additional rent and pet fees for the transfer. I strongly advise you not to move here.
