Lived at Brooktree for about 18 months in 2008-2009.The price and relatively easy access to 395 is what drew us.Now, there are good and bad here. The Apt was fairly well kept up, and we never had problems with the staff - Bree was always super friendly, and when something went wrong, they would schedule a guy to come and fix it up.The bad is pretty bad. There is a pool, but in season it is over run with squalling hoards of kids. The gym is a joke, not intended for any but the most casual workout. Minor there still...The real bad is the neighborhood is a damn ghetto, with a trailer park to the south and projects to the north. Most nights you can find a bum or three digging through the trash cans at all hours of the night, and it seems to be a favorite place for drug deals to go down as well.My girlfriend worked long hours and would frequently come home after 9PM, and it was not a good feeling when I was not there, knowing she had to run the gauntlet of trash can bums and junkies / dealers.In the end, the best or worst thing you can say about a place is would you do it again?Well, 2 years after leaving Reno, we moved back to Reno, and we did not really consider Brooktree this time. more ... hide ...

Lived here for a couple years and was pretty happy. They are small units but cozy. The area is very quite and most residents are friendly. Office hours are not the best (9 to 5 Monday through Friday). They have a single pool, but no hot tub. There isnt AC, and parking can be really scarce if you have a second car but over all it is a good value for what you pay. more ... hide ...

Sadly I had to ask these people for help after losing my place to live. I have never been so mistreated. At first several of us who had no bed were made to sit on hard metal stools at a table all night long rather than at least allow us to at least lie on the floor. I left because I could not stand the suffering of that. I was given admittance to a run down over crowded house in a bad neighborhood and given a bunk bed next to an insane black woman who sneered at me and called me racial names all night long...the manager did nothing about it. I became ill during the night and was kicked out with no where to go at 3am. I was disoriented and I suffered a small stroke a block a way from the house and a young man called 911 saving my life..VOA is just wretched to allow this treatment of women in the Reno area. more ... hide ...
