After two great years, we chose to buy a house instead of renting. We talked to APM about shortening our lease by two months. They said it was not an issue. When we told them it was unlawful, due to the lack of opportunity to make repairs and the fact that the carpet was over fifteen years old! The OWNERS of Authority Property Management would not engage with us.....and laughed when we said we would take them to Small Claims. "Go ahead. I have argued this before a Shasta County judge and won every time".Is this true? Because we not only RECEIVED OUR MONEY BACK, the judge criticized the owners due to their unawareness of what "pro-rated" was, and in their profession...."that is WORRYING", said the judge.If you rent through APM.....TAKE PHOTOS when you move in, and ASSUME they will take your security deposit.
